SURE INSURANCE BACKS REGIONAL QUEENSLANDERS WITH AFFORDABLE HOME INSURANCE COVER

Sure Insurance has reinforced its total commitment to providing affordable home and contents insurance solutions for regional Queenslanders, as Assistant Federal Treasurer Michael Sukkar MP meets with insurers tomorrow in Townsville.

The meeting is to discuss escalating home premiums and potential solutions to address the labeled ‘North Queensland insurance crisis’.

Managing Director of Sure Insurance, Bradley Heath said the ‘crisis’ was certainly a home insurance price crisis, with average premiums across the region soaring to exorbitant and unaffordable levels over the past decade.

“Home and contents insurance across North Queensland has simply become unaffordable for many householders and that’s why we established Sure Insurance – a specialist regional Queensland insurer focused exclusively on delivering affordable cover to enable the region’s householders to access insurance,” Mr Heath said.

“We know things are tough for regional Queenslanders and Sure Insurance is proud to have already delivered average savings per customer of about 30 per cent on home insurance across North Queensland, which is more than $1,200 a year.

“Sure Insurance is able to deliver these savings through our unique technical insights into the pricing of home insurance across the region, allowing us to effectively provide our best possible price on home and contents insurance,” Mr Heath said.

Sure offers significant savings for home mitigation measures including:

  • Up to 45 per cent off the cyclone premium
  • Up to 35 per cent off the flood premium
  • Up to 35 per cent off the bushfire premium.

“It’s through our personalised individual customer service and looking closely at each individual’s property that we fully consider any cyclone, bushfire and flood resilience measures added to homes. That’s how we are delivering real savings on home insurance to regional Queenslanders.

“Sure understands regional Queensland is prone to extreme weather events and believes community risk mitigation is a critical factor in reducing future damage, while incentivising householders to make homes more resilient and to be prepared for events will assist in reducing premiums.” Mr Heath said.

Sure Insurance is owned and staffed by Queenslanders and we are available on 1300 392 535 for customers to speak with a real person about their home insurance or at sure-insurance.com.au to obtain an online quote.
